Our 2021 Guest Speaker, Professor Fogg directs the Federal Tax Clinic at the Legal Services Center where he serves as a clinical professor of law. He joined the Harvard faculty in 2017 after teaching at Villanova Law School for a decade. He got the tax clinic at Harvard off the ground in 2015 and 2016 while serving as a visiting professor. Prior to teaching at Villanova he worked for over 30 years with the Office of Chief Counsel, IRS.  He developed a course for the Georgetown LLM program, Federal Taxation of Bankruptcy and Workouts, which he taught there for 15 years as an adjunct. He is a national authority on tax procedure especially in the area of collection and bankruptcy law as it relates to tax. He co-authors a blog with Professor Les Book, procedurallytaxing.com, which focuses on current tax procedure issues. Professor Fogg served as the editor of the ABA Tax Section publication “Effectively Representing Your Client before the IRS” for the 5th, 6th and 7th Editions. He authors the collection chapters in “IRS Practice and Procedure” created by Michael Saltzman and currently edited by Les Book.

If you make your hotel accommodations through TLI then please consider the following: Reagan National Airport is the closest to the Georgetown University Campus and is the only DC airport with metro (underground rail) access, in the event of traffic congestion or stoppage. Metro is a very clean, safe and comfortable mode of transport and will save the cost of cab fare. Check-in 4 p.m. Nightly dinner at 5 p.m. - 7:00  p.m. Breakfast each morning at 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. Lunch at 11:30 a.m. - 2  p.m  The Exam will most probably be administered on the second Wednesday or Thursday in November 2021, unless the day commemorates a federal holiday. The exact date is subject to U.S. Tax Court Announcement in June 2021. Check-out is before 11 a.m. morning of the Exam, if  you are leaving to go back home right after the test. Secure luggage at Front Desk for pickup after the Exam. Private car service will transport Applicants at 10:30 a.m. the morning of the Exam from the hotel to Test Center, just 17 minutes away. Return on your own to retrieve your luggage, if you have checked-out. All listed times are in the ET zone.
